This Beautiful 1414 HA Game Farm is situated approximately 412 Kilometers from Pretoria in the Ficksburg area. This registered nature reserve comprises of mountaintop and valley terrain. Due to the sheer cliffs on the Lesotho side there is no fence on that side adding a few hundred hectares of additional grazing. The farm’s natural vegetation has been left untouched for at least 33 years. Hidden in the mountain with a mild climate during summer, an abundance of water and animals, this is the perfect place to practice regenerative farming. The farm could also be sold as two separate farms, a 527 hectares (1 302 acres) section and an 887 hectares (2 192 acres) section. The reserve has unlimited potential for game breeding, ecotourism, and hunting by both local and international hunters. It can also be used as a cattle and/or sheep farm or simply as a lifestyle farm.

The price includes at least 100 top-quality pure-bred Nguni cattle. The cattle are extremely hardy and roam freely with the game. A system of high-density grazing or ultra-high-density grazing will work extremely well on the reserve, removing the need for fixed camps while also vastly increasing the carrying capacity. Similarly, Damara sheep and/or indigenous goats offer a huge opportunity. Arable land is approximately 150 hectares. Much of the arable land is adjacent to two large dams. The dams are stocked with bass, carp, and smallmouth yellowfish. Trout, catfish, and banded tilapia could also be successful. All the water sources originate on the reserve and are therefore unpolluted.

The farm is situated in a safe area and is primarily game-fenced. The access road ends at the reserve entrance so it does not border any roads and is surrounded by other farms making it extremely safe and private. There are no servitudes. All furniture, cutlery, crockery, linen, curtains, tools, and equipment are included in this sale.

Improvements

  • Infrastructure on the farm includes a sandstone cottage with two bedrooms that have built in cupboards, lounge/dining room, kitchen, bathroom with bath, shower and toilet, separate toilet and walk-in safe. The cottage is fully furnished with log furniture, a gas fridge/freezer, gas stove, Dover wood stove, two gas geysers and a built in gas heater.
  • There are three bachelor sandstone chalets with double beds, kitchenette and own bathrooms. All three chalets are equipped with a gas fridge/freezer, double gas plate, Dover wood stove, gas geyser and are fully furnished.
  • There is a small rondawel currently which is currently being used for storage and a small swimming pool.
  • The farm is home to an accommodation building consisting of three bedrooms, lounge/dining/kitchen area, five toilets, four washbasins and two showers. This building also consists of another large room currently used as a gymnasium and for storage. The building could house 14 guests. It is fully furnished and includes a gas geyser, a gas fridge/freezer and a Jewel wood stove.
  • The farm includes slaughtering facilities and a cold room with a Coolbot system that can be remotely monitored and operated from anywhere in the world.
  • There are two Brick worker’s houses. These houses consist of two bedrooms, a living area, a bathroom and a kitchen with electricity, running water and a Jewel wood stove.
  • The farm is also home to a cattle handling facility, an organic vegetable garden and orchard, and four beehives.
  • There is a solar-equipped borehole providing exceptional quality water and 8 500 Litre water tanks. There is also an electric borehole pump as backup.
  • The farm is home to a power room equipped with a full solar off-grid system. Also a 10kw diesel generator with a 200 litre fuel tank and a 6.5kw petrol generator that are hardly ever used as the solar system provides enough electricity for current needs. The reserve is totally independent of ESKOM. There is an ESKOM connection point on the farm should the new owner decide to make use of ESKOM.
  • There is an MTN 4G LTE tower in the centre of the farm and apart from excellent cellular reception it also provides some additional income. A Wi-Fi tower provides excellent 4 Mbps internet connectivity that is uncapped. The Wi-Fi is free of charge.
